AVI (Audio Video Interleave) is a format defined by Microsoft for
storing audio/video data. It is very popular on the Windows platform.
Some common questions about the AVI format are listed below
- What does the "... could not find vids:nnnn ..." error mean?
- The letters "nnnn" are a four character number and letter sequence
which seem obscure. This means that the AVI file was encoded with a
format for which you do not have the codec
