Tip #1: Get Rid of Welcome Screen

Tired of that stupid welcome screen that ICQ displays every time it starts up? It's very simple to turn off. Just start up your ICQ, click the ICQ button (circled in red) and select "Preferences" (circled in green).

Note that your ICQ program may look very different than these examples depending upon which skin is being used and which ICQ version is installed.

Click on Miscellaneous and clear the box marked "Show ICQ Welcome." ICQ will not longer display the welcome message.
