There are many sites that do some incredibly annoying things with JavaScript. In fact, I find that I just like to turn the silly language off. Here's how you do that.

Internet Explorer 5
From the "Tools" menu choose "Internet Options". Click on the "Security" tab then click on the "Internet" icon. Now click on the "Custom Level..." button and scroll down to "Scripting". Look for the section marked "Active Scripting" and change it to "Disable" or "Prompt" (if you really want to be annoyed).

Example

Netscape Navigator 4
From the "Edit" menu select "Preferences". Click on the "Advanced" option. Clear the checkbox marked "Enable JavaScript".

Example

Opera 5
From the "File" menu select "Preferences". Click on the "Plugin" option. Clear the checkbox marked "Enable JavaScript".
