Most browsers include a way, usually in the preferences section, to browse with images turned off. This is a very useful way to increase your browsing speed, especially if you are on a slower connection. If you surf to a site in which you want to see the images, turn this back on then refresh.

Internet Explorer 4
Choose "View" menu and select "Options". Check off "Show pictures"

Internet Explorer 5
Chose "Tools" menu and select "Internet Options". Click "Advanced" tab and scroll down to "Multimedia". Clear "Show pictures".

Example

Netscape 3
Select "Options" and check off "Auto load images".

Netscape 4
Click "Edit" on toolbar, select "Preferences" then "Advanced". Clear "Automatically Load images".

Example

Opera
Select "Preferences" from the "File Menu". From the list of preferences, select "Multimedia", then check "Show no images" in the image box.
